Restore missing teeth with Crowns and Bridges at OriEase

Missing or damaged teeth affect more than just your appearance. They change the way you speak, eat, and feel about yourself every day. The good news is that modern dentistry offers reliable, long-lasting solutions and at Oriease Dental Clinic, dental crowns and bridges are among the most popular treatments we provide for patients of all ages.

What Is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that fits over a damaged, weakened, or decayed tooth. It restores the tooth’s original shape, size, strength, and appearance – protecting it from further damage while blending naturally with your surrounding teeth.

Crowns are recommended when:

A tooth is severely decayed and cannot be restored with a filling

A tooth is cracked, chipped, or broken

A tooth has been treated with a root canal

A tooth is worn down due to grinding

You want to improve the appearance of a discoloured or misshapen tooth

What Is a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge literally “bridges” the gap left by one or more missing teeth. It consists of two crowns on the teeth on either side of the gap, with an artificial tooth called a pontic – suspended in between. The result is a fixed, natural-looking replacement that restores your bite and your smile.

Bridges are ideal when:

You have one or more missing teeth

The surrounding teeth are healthy enough to support the bridge

You want a permanent solution without surgery

“A well-fitted crown or bridge not only restores function – it gives you back the confidence to smile freely.”

What Happens During the Procedure?

The process for both crowns and bridges is straightforward and typically completed in two visits.

First visit:

We examine and prepare the tooth or teeth involved

Impressions are taken to custom-make your crown or bridge

A temporary crown or bridge is placed while your permanent one is being crafted

Second visit:

        The temporary is removed

Your permanent crown or bridge is fitted, adjusted, and cemented in place

You leave with a fully restored smile

Are Crowns and Bridges Painful?

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia, so you will feel little to no discomfort during treatment. Some mild sensitivity after the procedure is normal and settles within a few days. Most patients return to their regular routine the same day.

How Long Do They Last?

With proper care, dental crowns and bridges can last anywhere from 10 to 15 years or more. The key is maintaining good oral hygiene and attending regular checkups.

Tips to make them last longer:

Brush twice daily and floss around the crown or bridge

Avoid chewing very hard foods like ice or hard candy

Wear a night guard if you grind your teeth

Visit Oriease Dental Clinic every 6 months for a checkup and clean

Why Replacing Missing Teeth Matters

Many people put off replacing a missing tooth, thinking it is not urgent. But leaving a gap has consequences:

Surrounding teeth shift and tilt into the empty space

Bone loss begins in the jaw where the tooth is missing

Chewing becomes uneven, putting stress on other teeth

        Speech can be affected

        Self-confidence takes a hit

Acting sooner rather than later protects your overall dental health – and keeps future treatment costs down.
